UCA attracts almost 35,000 students each year, including 4,600 international students, thanks to the quality, consistency, diversity and multidisciplinary nature of its courses, spread over 5 main fields:

UCA offers a wide range of courses in Auvergne, reflecting the diversity and complementary nature of the disciplines taught and corresponding to the eclectic nature of the personal and professional projects of its students.
The University currently comprises 20 departments, schools and institutes and 5 doctoral schools. It offers over 170 courses, including 18 technological diplomas (DUT), 27 general undergraduate degrees (licences générales), 50 professional undergraduate degrees (licences professionnelles), 54 masters degrees, 7 engineering degrees, 4 medical courses and 3 paramedical courses.

The various courses offered by UCA correspond to the European bacherlor's master's doctorate system, thanks to the ECTS credits system. The degrees awarded are therefore recognised at both national and international level. The University also caters for more specific needs by issuing University-specific degrees (diplômes d’université) and certificates. Lastly, it also offers preparatory and competitive examination courses.
